As the title states, I went to my first AutoX this weekend and had a blast! It was at Lonestar Park in dallas which has a huuge parking lot. This gave me a bit of an advantage over the usual smaller parking lots. Out of all 24 novices there, I got 7th place running Sumitomo's. Pretty good I think considering what I was running against. There was a new guy in a z06 corvette complaining to me about his big American boat LOL. I wouldn't complain about a 400hp 2 seater, but I still beat him :eek:ccasion14:. Here's the results if you guys want to take a look. I'm Travis Atteberry for reference. The newbies are on the last list on the page. http://autocross.com/tr/2011_2_final.htm My dad also attempted to take some pictures and he only got 4 OK ones. Oh, and in the first picture is the 505HP Vette(black) I got to take a lap in(riding obviously). I do officially need track tires though :tongue3:

Yeah, my friend came with me and didn't bring his car.. Completely regretted it after he rode with me and in a Corvette lol. I just wish there were closer venues for me. I had to drive over 2hrs to get to there on Sunday. Meant I had to leave my house at 6.

Go for it man, even if you don't drive you can usually get a ride with a few people if you hang out in the grid and act interested. My ride in the 505HP z06 was insanely fast and the grip he had shocked me. I kept expecting his car to understeer or spin off into a plume of tire smoke.

Dude if there are any hoped up STI's at the next event you go to ride in them. They are insanely fast I rode in one that was four seconds faster then any other car racing it was rediculous.

awesome, I still have yet to try this...

Lame sauce. Find an event. It's addictive.

I know I know, they have them around here I just always miss the boat. I'm afraid I'll suck horribly and my seats do absolutely nothing to hold me in place.

Don't go out worrying about how well you do initially. You will start off slower and progress, as with anything. or you might go out and tackle everybody.

we aren't expected to be ken block on the first run ;p

Onyx, you couldn't be any worse than the Altima that ran yesterday.. he went at least 6 seconds slower around the course than me. They even announced that grandma was going grocery shopping every time he went up to run lol.

Awesome man...I'm going to be hitting up some AutoX events this season, it'll be my first set of runs as well, can't wait!

My neighbor has a sick Lotus, he goes almost every weekend.

It's crazy addicting fun. I am consistently at the bottom of the list but I don't give a rat's tush. I've got autocross driving school this weekend, hopefully I'll start getting a bit better.

I'd love to see some more older mustangs at AutoX. The only older one there was a 90 foxbody and the guy didn't seem very sociable. As far as the Lotus goes, sadly there wasn't one there, but I would absolutely love to drive one.

We have one Lotus who shows up at every event, does decently. Midpack if I'm not mistaken. We got a 94-95 Cobra that started last time and wants to come back and we've had a couple fox bodies but usually, its just me and a Mach 1 representing Mustangs. I want to bring the 67 out.

Taking out the oldschool stuff is sweet. There was a guy there with a Austin Healy with rally lights and everything. I wouldn't mind taking my dad's 66 Fairlane just for stupidity's sake haha.
