well thats why they are called accidents b/c no one plans on them happening. And did you calculate the risk of a random wild animal or stray dog running out in front of you?

I did think of a stray animal. Accidents happen and people get hurt. You can still end up dead at the track tho. Hypothetical?

I think this is appropriate.

I'm just gonna say what I say every time. We've all done it, sure it can be dumb. But it's fun. Just have to think, unlike most rice boys that'll still try to race in 5 o clock traffic. Retards. That's happened to me several times, getting revved on by a honda at rush hour. Then i'm sure he thinks i'm the bitch cause I won't waste him.. :violent1:

And good work beating the G35. I honestly thought they were faster as well.

So Passenger, where is the closest track to you?
I have several around. Bristol's Thunder Valley - 15 minutes, Rogersville's Cherokee Dragway -25 minutes, 411 Dragway - 80 minutes, and i-40 Dragway - 2hrs.

Keep in mind I live in hicktown, Tennessee. I'm sure theres loads more tracks near Sac, Cali than my area.

lol drag racing section... that makes perfect sense. so passenger are you a rocket scientist or what? no SH*T tracks are around. as i stated i calculated the risk... no pedestrians, no traffic, two lanes in both directions, out of city limits. so at this rate driving on the freeway at 75 mph next to someone is f*cking retarded? so when i shifted to fourth and noticed me pulling again and him immediately shutting down i was going maybe... 90? 90 and 75 not much different in my book. My brother was the number one reason i raced the guy. his sn95 was back at my family's shop as we went to get food in my ride. he was mad he didn't get to crush the bastard.
Because you have to hit something to cause an accident right? If a tire blew on either car, or any form of mechanical failure really, everyone involved could have been killed, except yourself. Could you live with the guilt knowing that your actions resulted in the death of your brother, and the other people involved? Could you live knowing the pain and suffering the families would go through? People would be missing fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, sons, etc etc etc.

Way to make a terrible point. Tires and part failure could happen at any time bud. So on the track or off that could happen. The fact you sign a wavier doesn't stop accidents or part failure of and btw there's no fucking invisible wall between the lanes on a strip it doesn't take much for someone to end up in the other lane. Go troll someone roses thread you made your point. The only strip I'm aware of is sac raceway but if I'm not mistaken it's closed for the season.

i think its annoying when people start talking about how dangerous streetracing is and what could happen... of course there can be accidents but you have to be aware of what you are doing.. like someone said before your not going to race in rush hour... where i live we don't have drag strips nor race tracks... the "legal" races only happen like 4 times a year! so we just do it out there near midnight.. go to the same avenue where the "legal" races are done and have some fun... its an avenue with no intersections nor streets coming in so nothing really bad can happen... i know over there in the u.s. you can really get in trouble but over here cops wont even try to catch you jajajaja... well anyway nice kill Insayne! Good Story!

Well, we all have been tempted to put the hammer down on the street, and most of us have done it without fatal consequences, but I have seen some really nice cars get confiscated by the cops. They had a sting last summer and one of the racers was actually an undercover cop. The track is a controled environment with safety equipment and EMT personel. Have fun, and be safe! :headbang:

Everyone breaks the speed limit and goes faster then they should, no one here is saying they are perfect but just b/c I took the STI up to 80 on the back twisty roads yesterday does not mean I'm going to come to the internet and post about it either. If you choose to street race and make it public then expect to get crap from it b/c it is mostly looked down upon. If I was in the Cobra or STI and someone wanted to have some fun on the interstate of course I would but Id much rather talk about my track times then some dill hole I raced on the street.

Yes but it all comes back to the fact that opinions are like assholes and everyone has one. Oh and they all stink ;)

Venom, I agree with you but to talk to people like its so horrible and then blatantly attack the person them self are two different things. It could be like "In my opinion racing should be done at the track, its a lot safer." That would be fine. To come on here and call someone an idiot isnt really constructive.

Not everyone gets the minor hints. The only point I'm trying to make is yes everyone does it ( I was just making the point of what can happen on the street VS the controlled conditions of the track) I'm not knocking the action of doing a run on a public road/highway its the posting about it online that bothers me. IMO this should be like on the corral where street racing threads are locked or removed. This section is for Track and dyno talk, not street racing glory stories. This section should be about drag race discussion and tech or dyno results/talk only. Not penis measuring stories of street racing.
