Ha! I finally got around to addressing the sloppy keyway in my steering column....I took my new ignition switch down to a locksmith & had him key it the same as my old one he then just popped the old one out & clicked the new one in it's place! Voila! No more door bell chimes & all sloppiness is gone! All for $20 bucks.

I was going to do it myself but he just popped it in & out so fast I just let it go. I never gave a thought that a locksmith changed out car switches...oh well it is done & very simple it was!!!! Don't worry about doing it yourself at all! So easy I could have done it! Chuckle...

The locksmith could have repaired the old one for less, all he has to do is drilll the old one in two places & insert a couple pins to lock the internals together so keep that in mind. I just glad to have it all done finally.

did mine 4 months ago and still working like new. It really is a super simple deal to pop-in/out. Insert the key and turn to the on position - push a small pic/screwdriver in the hole in the bottom and then you pull the key and the entire cyclinder right out. Autozone had them in stock as well didn't even have to order it.

mines tight like a tiger, but its good to know that there are other options when it starts going bad.
