How aggressive do they sound on our cars? How much are they? Where can I buy them?

Well I currently have flowmaster 40's with dumps and I'm pretty happy with the way it sounds but I was thinking of getting something a little louder down the road.

Then you would like the 10's.

The 3" inlet/outlet 10's sound a little deeper than the 2.5" in/out 10's because of the larger body/chamber. I would recommend them for a nice roar.

:eek:The Flowmaster Super 10 Series mufflers sound great on the V6 Mustang. They increase the volume and deepen the exhaust tone nicely. I love mine.
How do you think they sound?

I had them on the Bullitt with an offroad X and hated them...... Loud and raspy and droned enough to make you crazy. But that was on a V8, they may be different on a V6.

Yeah, the 3.8L and the 4.6L are two totally different beasts when listening to the exhaust system. Exhaust systems are different car to car. So many variables that can come into play from the headers, cats, pipe diameter, mid-pipe, and mufflers. The Flowmaster 10's belong on the 3.8 though.
Loud mufflers are all around- Borla XR-1,Pypes M-80's, CB Extreme's, FM Outlaw, ect...

They sound so sick! I'm thinking I'll get some down the road. The just sound amazing on the 3.8.
So are any of those other options cheaper than the 10's or are they the best bang for you buck?

Anyone looking at V6 exhaust should NEVER compare sound or performance to the V8... they are two totally different animals and will not respond the same way. Any glass-pack or flow through style muffler will sound very raspy and closer to a Honda than a Cobra. Chambered mufflers will give the loud rumble most are looking for.

I had slp lm1's dumped on my 5.0 and they sounded completely different than 10 series dumped on my buddies 5.0. So you can't really say that, also, 10 series aren't just an empty chamber like shotgun style mufflers. They are just a single chamber of baffles rather than straight through so they will tone the sound but still be loud.

I shopped e-bay and got the FM 10's for $40.00.
The closest comparison to Flowmaster 10 Series is Cherry Bomb's "Extreme" muffler. They are almost identical with the exception of the baffle angle. Both are great. Both can be purchased cheaply on e-bay.
I purchased the 2.5" offset FM 10 mufflers.

-You both are agreeing on the subject whether you know it or not. Both on same page, pretty funny, and completely correct information!:)

Let me tell ya somthin' a little off topic- I absolutely love the sound of a buddy of mines exhaust system on his 4.6L SN95. He has long tube headers, an "H" pipe and Cherry Bomb "Pro" mufflers. It sounds so F'n mean and nasty, I can't do anything but smile.

How's the drone inside the stang?
Every single Mustang will be different. Headers, cats, mid-pipe, 3.73 gears, 4.10 gears will make it different. In my car the drone is very quiet unless for some reason I'm driving at 3K RPM's for extended time. It doesn't resonate to bad inside the car, it's just louder at 3K.
I am positive that in certain set ups the drone could be ear numbing. They are barely baffled, almost straight thru.

So do you think dumps aren't a very good option with them?

No, I read and agree with the fact that the SN95's have the long, extended over the axle tail pipes & that makes for a much better exhaust tone. As apposed to the newer models that have 6" after outlet of muffler with tip. I really don't think so, not on a V6. You can definitely start her up after the mufflers are in place and give a listen though!
