hey guys...i have a 98 gt with a cobra front bumper so for xmas i got the smoked cobra fogs to match my headlights...sweet right? well thats what i thought till i ran into a slew of probs......put the fogs in no prob...driver side connector was attached to the wires so plugged right in...passenger side did not have the connector to plug into the fog, just the 2 wires.....get to the inside of the car, pull the switch out, nothing....nnothing plugged into the switch, and no wires to be found anywhere..pulled the button, cupholder, shifter boot, and nothing.....now the tricky part...what to do!? tried going to ford, they said i could only buy an entire wiring harness for the car and a switch..almost 300 bucks.....but can i just get a generic wiring harness from pep boys and somehow splice into the headlamp switch? so that when you pull it out just for parking lights the fogs come on??

any help would be great guys..
thanks, jeremy

do you have the center console wiring harness? i have a wiring harness but is for the 94 (no cup holders, this means that you may not be able to use the 12v with out having to modify it).

id pop out the foglight switch clean it in isopropyl alcohol. let it dry. look in the connection for any debris or foreign objects. or loose wiring and then reconnect. my switch personally comes loose. since its pretty old.

hey.....

all 96-98 GT's had the convertable top harness and fog light wire harness, whether they are verts, coupes, or didnt come with fog lights.

pop out the cupholder, the coin holder thing, and the fog light switch (if you have it). look under there, and you will see 2 plugs. one is for the vert top, the other is for the fogs.

get a hold of your owners manual, go to the fuse section, and make sure you have a fuse where the fog light fuse needs to go.

get a bulb, plug it into the 1 socket you have under the car, and try turning them on. if it works, you just need to go to the junk yard and cut off that 2nd socket you need, or try to see if autozone sells a repair kit. i would say check with Randy over on www.modularmisfits.com to see if he can get you the repair kit from ford, but im thinking its discontinued
