I heard they actually use less power than halogen light bulbs...may be true cause i use mine all the time when im trying to find something in the dark:)

you could quite possibly be correct, its just that my electrical system seems to be on a fritz so any little thing will drain the battery when the cars not running

HID bulbs are not a current dependant system like normal lights are so they do take less amperage then a normal light. They are also VERY dependand on good connections like the ground and between the ballast and lights.

I did this the other day in front of the shop i work at in 5 min. i used the vert top power to power my lights and it was cake my side markers dont go on but the foglights work and they only work when the car is on so no trouble of forgeting them on. hella easy and worth it
