am i the only one the filters tighten up on?!?!?? :dunno:

Yeah mine are pretty tight too when i go to take them off. I normally hand tighten them when i put them on but i can't loosen them by hand. I only use mobil 1 filters and they don't have any sort of fitting on them.

I've tried the strap ones, i just don't like them. The one i bought owns everything else I've ever tried.

mine comes off with the twist of a hand too.. i have a filter tool but i dont need to use it..

i just put it on hand tight and a bit more and when its ready to change the oil.. i can just slip it off with a bit of arm strength.. and im a beanpole..

mine dont tighten up and i have a 2v...mybe it because you have a 5.0 utofcloset:
