I'm PI Swapped with Stage 1 cams and full bolt ons and put down 261whp on a Mustang Dyno (290ish on a dynojet) and my pump is running 92% duty cycle...which is beginning to push the limits of the pump.

Anything over 270 is pushing the stock pump to it's limits and can fail. Think about all the money you have invested in your car and how much you would lose if the pump failed and you went lean on a wot run somewhere? A pump is less than 150 bucks and most people can do it themselves. Man if you have to ask you just need the pump. Hell, my 4 cyl coupe has a 255 high pressure/high volume in it, ready for a turbo now.

just do the focus svt pump and that'll be good for awhile if you are looking for a bit more after that go with the AFM inline pump

+1 on what mike said....
Pi swap = safe bet to do a 255 walbro swap

what is your plan for the car???

the focus SVT is a good upgrade if you have alot planned, a N/A npi car with bolt ons will be fine with stock if its in good shape. a PI car with bolt ons is getting real close to the limits of the stock pump, and a FULL bolt on N/A PI w/ longtubes will usually run out of fuel up top...... i'd just get the focus SVT pump and never worry about it N/A...

but 96/7's can run a walbro GSS340, which is a much better pump imho. I ran that in my real street car deep into the 10's. When I reached a certain power level with the car, the pump just couldn't keep up anymore and I went to a Weldon pump setup. I will never use anything else on a high hp car again. That pump is fantastic, keeps up with all the demands my race car puts on it. It's louder than the engine at idle, lol.

5.4 is a different ballgame man. They are reallllly thirsty, better get at LEAST an svt pump and some big injectors...like 42lb`s

ha, 42s are you serious??? maybe for a boosted 5.4.. stock or even bolt ons 30s will do with no problem, 42s support over 400whp. realistically a bolt on N/A 5.4 will make 300ish.

My bad i thought he said he was doing a lightning swap?? thats why i recomended the big injectors. For a mildly modded 5.4 i`d still recomend the 255lph pump or svt pump and 24/30 lb injectors
