okay anyone know how much pressure is needed to determine whether a fuel pump is good for startup?

my chiltons book shows that the pump operating at idle needs to be between 30-45

but what is needed for start up? mine is at 40 the car turns over but no start i have spark on all 8 cyl, fuel filter was just replaced any ideas suggestions, etc?

40 psi is more than enough. The fuel pump is normally delivering fuel to the regulator at about 70+ psi. Are you sure there is spark? The only other reason would be the injectors not opening. I believe you will need a noid light to test the injector harness.

This. Also, did you mess with your timing at all? you could be off 180*

as are the TFI modules

Yes, but he said he had spark. If either the TFI module or the stator (PIP) failed there would be no spark.
