Punctuation is your friend :)]

Sounds like you have a short somewhere or your electrical system isn't providing enough juice :dunno:
My pump is loud but it never fluctuates with any kind of power draw.

I thought previously you had maybe a weak alt and in turn a weak
ignition system. But if the system "pulses", it could still be...

No CEL codes being thrown? I take it...no

I'm good until the backfire issue. That needs to be resolved.
Could be some unmetered air comming in somewhere. I'd check
gaskets at the TB/plenum/intake interfaces and any hoses involving
vacuum to these parts.
Then there is the PI intake. If this is set on a pair of nPI heads(as
I'm assuming here), this intake port mismatch is known to work well
in many cases. Some complain of low-end hesitations, lean conditions,
vacuum leaks @ intake/head seal, etc. You've probably heard all this.
I almost did the PI intake when mine cracked, but backed out. That'll
have to wait until I do the whole PI swap.

Surely someone with more experience with this kind of intake combo
will chime in and help. I just don't wanna send you on a wild goose
chase. But, that's where I'd start.

Good Luck. GT

take some carb cleaner and spray around the intake ports to see if it is a vacuum leak. Plenty of people have done the PI intake swap with no issues, it could just be an install error.

From the second to third time i changed manifolds, did that no rise in rpm,i think it is cracked in the coolant to cylinder part , i got it from this shop put it on went out explained what was happening and this kid said that if it was the same shop that swapped his out to put on a p51 then it may be cause the shop told him it was. i asked and they said they don't know if that was the one. Sucks that my experience with this swap is so crappy. The reason for manifold change was the first manifold was broken at the neck of the heater hose tried to fix but i cracked down to the bolt hole!

My OEM intake first started leaking at the heater hose fitting near the pass. rear of the intake.
Repaired that w/ JB Weld. Held for a while. Goosed it one day about a mile from home and the
coolant smell & steam ensued. Limped home. Cracked right behind the alt. Wasn't too suprized.

Remove the alt. and have it tested @ A-Zone or somewhere.
If you replace it there, get their "lifetime warranty" part.
Personally, there are some things I will always go back to Ford for though.
Like alternators, starters, PS pump, sensors, etc. Unless I know who the
OEM's are like the Bosch O2 sensors. Got those at Advance Auto for $57 a pop.
