As for the LT install on the modulars. Yeah you've got to either jack the motor up or drop the K.

I would seriously just pay someone to do it on a modular, that thing is a monstrosity.

if you can find someone to do it for 300 or less then go for it, but it really is so much better to do it yourself. feels so good to do a big job like longtubes, when you start the car up and here it roar!

you got it right on the nose. it's SOO much more satisfying doing it yourself and knowing you did everything right and then you can say you did it yourself to everyone :coolsmiley:

and yeah that dent is to clear the steering column.

The guy who did my tune told me he would do it for a flat rate of 1k. But that includes all parts plus a new tune.

I got them today. they are MINT!! there is not a thing wrong with them and they came with bolts and everything still in the bag along with the o2 extenders. for $300 you can't beat it.

ordering the o/r x this week and then saving up paychecks til I get a catback.

can't decide what i want. I want a bassani catback but I can't find any good ones that are chrome and have long tips

Magnaflows sound amazing on a modular, so do dynomax ultras. Both are high quality and both are pretty inexpensive as far as the better catbacks go.

And do you modular guys really have THAT many issues with longtubes scraping? On my 5.0 the longtubes tuck right up to the floorboards and aren't really any lower than the stock H pipe was. Yet another reason I'm happy with my 5.0 decision lol.

yes, my buddy's BAB cobra has bbk longtubes and it is only lowered about 1.25"-1.5" in the front and he only has a good 3.5" of clearance.

my car is lowered on sportlines so a 2" drop.. my midpipe right now hangs about 2.5" to 3.0" off the ground.. i can't imagine what my longtubes clearance will be when the go on.

Judd, do you know about how much clearance you have? we are both on sportlines but i think you got the front ISO's out correct?

I have 2 1/4 inch from ground to bottom of longtubes. and I do have the front isos out.

what would be wrong with an aluminized steel catback or midpipe? from what I hear they will rust out fast :dunno:

could I get them ceramic coated and they will last longer or what could i do?

Get stainless. They cost more, but they will never rot out.

that's the thing. they don't sell a bbk o/r x that's stainless steel and a bassani catback is like $700 for stainless steel.

Try Magnaflow.

they have bad looking tips.

and it still doesn't solve the problem of hooking up to my long tubes with a stainless steel midpipe.
