what would be wrong with an aluminized steel catback or midpipe? from what I hear they will rust out fast :dunno:

could I get them ceramic coated and they will last longer or what could i do?

Buy some dynomax ultraflows which are stainless and then have a shop make you a custom exhaust out of stainless. I'll bet it comes out to be pretty reasonable. And aluminized isn't THAT bad as far as midpipes go. I'd NEVER get aluminized mufflers but piping isn't too bad. I had a MAC aluminized midpipe on my car for years and it looked fine when I pulled it to swap out for a longtube setup. I'm actually going to keep it and turn it into a OR longtube midpipe with a sawzall and a welder.

It depends. You'd want to get them coated both inside and out but the only surefire way to have a set of headers last a loooooooooooong time is to have stainless.

i have had aluminized on the mach 1 for almost 5 years now and there is no rust. my sisters GT has aluminized flowmaster and there srae very small spots of surface rust. unless you can deal with that heavy price increase, aluminized is the way to go

I got a guy on stl mustangs tell me that he used 2 jacks with 2 pieces of wood on top of them and jacked the motor up, after removing motor mounts, and that they slid right in and he had plenty of room uptop to bolt them in, he offered to help if I needed it too so I might take him up on that.

but the thing is is that I still need to know what I should use to put them on. should I use studs and then nuts or just use bolts? the headers don't come with them.

Me I wont use Long Tubes. With me running 500+ I want to be able to pull my tranny/Stall out fairly quick.

I called up houston perfomance, and they said that the only difference is that stainless steel will NEVER rot out or anything and bassani carries a liftetime guarantee that it wont. the aluminized has no guarantee and will rot out(idk how long)
