hey guys. i'm thinking about getting some paint a while to paint my mirrors if we have a nice weekend or something. i'll probably paint the cowl vent cover too. whatta you guys think? matte or gloss black? gloss would be really unique, but it might look weird. i'll put a poll up too to make things easier. thanks for sharing opinions. any are welcome!

I can't stand my plastic stock mirrors. They always look faded even though I use trim restorer all the time. I think it'd be cool if you painted the mirrors to match your car, the car would look more modern imo.

i agree, but i think it might be cool to have a little glossyness going on. it'd be like stock, but not at all if that makes sense

I don't think the gloss would look that bad on the mirrors, however matched makes it look very sleek, smooth, modern. The vents however, I usually like them to stay black. Perhaps a semi.

hey belber if you ever wanted to paint your mirrors body color i can tell ya how for little $$. like $20. but for the mirrors out of thee choices id say body color and flat black on the wiper cowl. wiper cowls look good gloss coated if they are smoothed and shaved of any holes but not all curvy and shaped like ours. satin or semi gloss is good

how could i paint them to match? my car was repainted at some point and i'm not sure it's pure ford laser red, so the paint to match rattlecans might not be spot on

Take it to a PPG store and they can shoot the color with a gun that will tell them the color match. Some have a portable one they can take outside and shoot the door so it matches perfect. If they don't have a portable one you can take the gas door in to them and they can match it from that. They can also put it into a spray can.

no reason for that, a decent body shop can do just as good of a job and it'll match just fine if you wanted to go that route
