umm 2000 for a new DART block at least... You could get a boss kit that comes with internals but the block has to be machined and idk the quality of the internals it comes with?

Oh also im not going with this 351 to much ba im hearing bout .060 over , imma just go with a boss block , heard from a few places there comperable to a dart block and cheaper too.

so imma be doing a 347 turbo build gonna try to put 650-700 to the wheels , think ill start on the suspension and workk on the motor after (would hate to put in all that power and torque and just spin out.

xronin, my idea to you is to sit down w/ pen and paper and make a plan. it seems like you're posts have been all over the place. you can make 700 rwhp w/ a 302 based OR a 351 based engine. its all about what YOU want to do. we can argue all day about 351 vs 302, and neither side will ever win. but be aware, to do this job right 700 rwhp will rape your wallet up the butt. you will not be able to afford to switch plans in the middle of this build. 700 rwhp will take some serious suspension, and if you plan to run on a drag strip, I can guarantee with those numbers you will need a roll cage of some sorts, probly a 6 pt. You're going to need a rear end that support it, a trans (the t5 will go to pieces when you hit 3rd gear the first time or if you have an aod it wont last very long at all either) if you are new to the game i would strongly recommend that you wait before you start on this endeveor, unless of course you are loaded. this wont be easy, it wont be cheap. make a rock solid plan first then follow it.

after talking to alot of pplz im pretty set on a 302 based block now , imma end up buying a block 1st then building my cars suspension , and as much as i wish i was loaded sadly im not , i do have a bit of extra $$ between me and my girl a month though to were i realy want to start the build (and buying a 302 block will force me in my head to go 302 based only) i think imma have a lil more of an issue on a bolt by bolt setup on my suspension to sustain the power of the build and still have good street manners also as far as the tranny goes im fairly sure imma go for a cc4 tranny (told there pretty good never driven an auto car purpose built).

c4 is great, but old. 3 spd only, so its a bastard on the highway. 4r70w is the wave of the future, and they can be built just as strong as a c4. I'm not sure there's a trans brake and manual valve body yet for the 4r though, thats the only draw back.

A friend of mine has a 347 turbo, on stock block, running only 6psi, and with no tune. He is getting 490-500rwhp, kinda the limit for stock blocks. He has pretty much EVERY single thing in the car except for the stock block(he has forged internals though)

I am sure that with a tune, and more psi you could reach those levels that u want. BTW he did the turbo install himself

490/500 hp he is on the edge hope it lasts for him , imma go with aftermarket so I can reach my 700hp goal without splitting the block , gonna take me longer than I may want but I figure do it once DO IT RIGHT ! And have fun after that , I just got to figure out what items I need for a 750+ build put em on and keep her under 700 hp , its gonna cost me more but over build under use in my eyes = more reliability and longjevity for my overpriced 4 wheeled child
