My T-45 is about done aswell, Reverse sticks, 2nd gear grinds consistently on any shift that isnt sloooooow, the same goes for my 5th gear. I actually have to hold the clutch down let the rev's drop and slowly position my shifter in 5th gear for it to engage without grinding horribly. I had my synchros replaced about a year ago and i dont like the idea of shelling out another 500 or so bucks for another year of driving.

Im actually looking for a reputable dealer to sell me a new t-45.

Rebuild your transmission or find another one.

When things are broke...

Some people just dont have the cash to throw down on a new tranny. Check out craigslist. If anything you can find a cheap used one some where around you. They are very abundant.

easy....you need:
t-56 (belhousing as well...)
96-98 Cobra crossmember mounting brackets (discontinued from ford...get at a junk yard or MPS). you will need to make new holes (horizontally thru the frame...already has some stock but you need 2 more to move it farther to make it work) to put these where you need them in relation to the trans mount.
t-56 driveshaft (or get yours shortened).
-->if you get the t56 driveshaft, you will need to get the rear d/s flange off your current one and get a hybrid u joint (part number 448 from Napa) to make it work with the stock diff flange, or...
-->get the 03/04 cobra diff flange and tear apart the diff to replace this so that the stock t-56 rear flange fits the diff (ford used a different bolt pattern on the 03/04 IRS)
-->if you get yours shortened, you wont need any of the above

---> if you get a used t56 from an 03/04 cobra, you will need to get the dallas speedcal extended range to be able to get the car's speedo to work. easy install
---> if you get the D&D t-56, buy the one with the mechanical speedo and then everything is a simple plug and play deal

-->depending on what exhaust you have, you **MIGHT** have to get a new x pipe or modify the one you have. the cobra crossmember brackets move the crossmember farther back.

--> figure out what you want to do for the reverse lock out feature. most wire it to a manual switch.

---->> when i did my swap, i used the stock GT flywheel, clutch, clutch fork, cable, and trans harness. i had 1" of pipe added to my catted x pipe to make room for the cobra crossmember.
for the crossmember issue, i just bolted in the cobra brackets to their stock locations (the GTs come with the holes already) and made an adapter to connect the t56 trans to the cobra crossmember. adapter is made of 1/4" steel plate. been holding up fine for years.
for the d/s, i used the 03 cobra driveshaft.
for the rear flange...i already had the 04 IRS so it fit perfectly.
for the reverse lock out... i wired it to an extra fog light switch and just hit it when i need to get into reverse.

just buy a bellhousing and get a TKO 5 speed, thats what i did.way stronger and way easier to do a clutch or anything like that, plus you can put the trans in and out without having to take a longtube header off haha.only downfall with a tko is they are a tad notchier then a t45 and i can quite shift them as fast but i'm not talkin a whole lot.
