Found these on eBay, he had a buy it now of 900 including shipping. 17x9's are legit ford wheels, rears are 17x10.5 aftermarket. He claims front have 70% life, rears are 50-60%. I sent a message asking if he would take 750 shipped, he replied and accepted it, but he wants me to paypal him and he will then cancel the auction. Is this safe? I suppose it would be the same process if I were buying them from one of you guys, paypal should protect me right? Also, does it seem like a good deal?

I got my wheels off of eBay. Don't remember the seller, it's been 5 years ago since I got them. If the seller has good feedback & a good score, I would assume their ok. That's what I went off of. My guy had a "best offer" option too. I can't recall what he was asking, but I shot him $500 & he took it...Hope it works out for ya!

Not bad if the tires are decent. I got my 17x9 03 Cobras for $400 at a used wheel place. No tires tho.

Look to see his feedback. Unfortunately, you can't really do a whole lot. He's gonna get your cash, and you gotta trust him. How much feedback does he have?

its safe, ive done it for a buyer....he just has to cancel his auction and say something like an item got lost or damaged within the sale time and Ebay will cancel it with no issues and when the payment is through paypal it always good...paypal has always fixed wrongs for me when people try being stupid.

Should be fine if its through paypal either way.

Seems like a good deal as long as the tires are good and they look like theyvee got a lot of tread on them.

Ive been ebaying for awhile and I think I understand what hes trying to do, if you just paypal him the money then he wont get charged any fees/tax from ebay as they do take a large fee on high $$ items. You're taking an ebay deal and making it almost into a safer internet craigslist deal, you know what I mean? I would pay for it with a credit card, if he tries to screw you over you can stop payment on it and not loose your money.

eBay is a rip off for us sellers. I have over 3,200 + feedback. I can tell you right now, that when it's all said and done, I lose approx 20% when I sell on eBay because of all the bullshit fees. There's nothing anybody can do. They have a monopoly. They know it. And they take advantage of it. First, you pay a fee just to list the item. Then once it sells, eBay take a percentage known as a "final value fee" then once the buyer pays, PayPal (also owned by eBay) take ANOTHER cut for using their payment system. THEN, on top of all that, the bastards take MORE money as they new charge a percent based on what the buyer pays for shipping.

If he is willing to deal outside of eBay, do him a favor. It will save him some money and not affect you at all. Have him send you a PayPal invoice for the amount you guys agree upon and just skip FEE-bay all together. Make sure that you send the money normally... NOT as a gift. Fund the transaction with money from a credit card. You'll be protected by PayPal buyer protection and if for some reason, something goes south, you can call your CC company and have them chargeback the money. You'll be fine.

I just sent the money. I chose "Send Money" for goods and services, and used a credit card. We have been texting back and forth this morning, I'm not too worried about it. He is going to pull the listing when he sees the money come through....

Finally got the shocks/struts/springs installed. Found some FR B Springs on craigs for $60 last fall, and I didn't want to go super low anyways, have longtubes, and mufflers that hang down....The shocks/struts are Tokicos from LMR.

Must be a rare option then......lol. They don't bother me, now with these wheels sticking out so much more than the last set, I kinda like em. This car does see a little gravel from time to time, should help keep the sides clear.....

Car looks badass with those rims.

Cliffs notes from dealing with assholes at Ebay/Paypal.

1 - NEVER send the money as a gift unless you know the person and know for sure they won't screw you

2 - Paypal buyer protection is only good for $175 unless you buy extra insurance, takes over 30 days to get and thats only if the other guy doesn't dispute it. Totally worthless.

3 - Ebay/Paypal are linked so if you dispute on 1 you can't do it again with the other

4 - They almost ALWAYS side with the seller, I bought "new" phone on ebay 6 months ago. It came wrapped in a paper towel with an old screen protector on it/obvious signs of use and crud all over it. Sent DETAILED pictures to them but "it looked new to them" and I was out $200 unless...

5 - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a Credit Card. Not a Debit/Check card, not a prepaid card, a legit CREDIT card. I did and I charged it back via my bank and got my $200 back. This was not the first time this happened to me and I learned the hard way the first time.
