Not split-it's warped.Notice the upper section of the converter sits lower on one side than the other side of the lower section.Weak construction is my suspicion,but no matter-the thrust bearing won't last but a couple of minutes like that.

No,it wasn't like that when it was installed. That was the result of flex under the high pump pressures when the TCC is locking. It made the adapter ring between the 2 different size converter halves bend.
Right now,there's only one company that I trust for converters-the company that fixed the crappy PI multidisc that's in my car. He's supposed to have a new design of his own for a multidisc converter now too.

Talk to Chris-he'll get you a converter that will last,will be stalled right,and will hold lockup at WOT without burning the TCC to a crisp.

I've heard good things about circle d also, one of the guys i talk to on another forum has one of his TC's in his blown Cougar.
