that would be an issue i guess with aftermarket cams and a auto.. thats a issue now sadly.. would 262 be better for a daily driven car

Yeah,the 262 would be a good DD cam,but to maximize dragstrip potential, even the stock cams can use more converter.

I've got comp 270s on my 5.4 and they're doing pretty well there near as I can tell (dyno run is set for wednesday, then we'll know for sure). As well as they're doing on my motor I can't help but think you'd have to rev a 4.6 pretty hard to get the same kind of results.

I run that cam in my 4.6L,and it completes the 1-2 shift at 6900 and the 2-3 shift at 6700 at the track. Runs through the traps at 112+mph.

6900? Damn... With the piston speeds from the 5.4 I'd planned on shifting at about 5800-6K in general. That works out to the same piston speed as a 4.6 at 6800-7K. I could feel it lean over a bit after 5000 or so when I was doing 3rd gear WOT runs so I figure any higher is wasteful.

to be.

I'm not expecting 800hp. I just want an all motor car. And I'm curious to see how much can be pushed out of it without a poweer adder.

I've been trying to do as much research as possible to find to best combo for the most power. Hard to decide what's gonna work best.

Bigjohnson4.6-you have any pics of the back of your stang?

If that's the case plan on getting any stage 2 cam even
any off the shelf stage 2 cams will do just plan on doing valve springs
too and rev it up high to see the extra power offered by a stage 2 cam.
