I would go with Crower or Comp or MPH or Houston Performance...all very good modular cam companies.

Stay far away from VT or VTCEC

Yes, thats not a good company to buy from at this time.

I think Fox-Lake sells crower and so does RPMoutlet...go on crowers website for all the vendors.

I ran the 268H cams for awhile, and they worked well. Not too radical, and the car went mid 12's all day long with those cams, and they weren't degreed(the RH and LH banks were 9 degrees off from each other). I know it had alot more in it too-the converter was too tight, and the cams needed degreeing to make the most power. Now,for the rpm limits you're keeping yourself at-you don't need anything with more than 220* duration. Those cams made good power, they require you to rev the engine to around 6500-6700.

^^ yea I def. undertsand that... i revved my 274's to about 6600

and the converter... HAHA i was on the stock converter still.

Never had a chance to get a stall in her... then i parked it to buy my 05 and then tore it down for my 4-valve swap.

Woulda ran much better on about a 3k stall...

You'd need approx a 4200 rpm converter for those 274's. The stock converter is 2400-2600,3000 would be like upgrading from a 2.73 to a 3.08 gear in the rear.
The 268's needed approx 4000 rpm,and mine was a 3500 rpm at the time-way too tight of a converter to launch right.

so for comp cams stage 3 npi cams it says a 2000+ stall. Would the stock stall work fine or would you recommed upgrading? http://www.brothersperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/1_391_26/products_id/4272
I guess you could say it'd work with the stock converter, but you'd be stupid to leave the stock converter in it. The car won't be any quicker in the 1/4 mile.
Plus it'd drive like ass...no low-end torque=sluggish all around, all the time. That Comp recommendation of 2000+ is a generic note, and doesn't take into account the function of a lockup converter or the lack or torque for the 4.6L's.
