This car went well into the 8's on the last combo, at 154ish MPH. He just got this build done, and it went 9.2@160 the other day on DR's. He put the slicks on, and should be going mid 8's real soon.

4.6 DOHC - 1998 Cobra
Stock Block, bored .020 over
Diamond Coated Pistons
Modmax Billet I beam rods
Stock Cobra crank
Stock heads, stainless valves, Manley Valve springs
Stock cams
PT88-47 T4 turbo .96
4" Aluminum Downpipe and muffler
Stainless steel turbo headers and crossover all made by owner
Large front mount air/air intercooler.Same side in and out
Ams500 with C02
Stock 05 style maff with Mafia
83lb injectors
Stock intake, ported, shortend runners.
327 gear,Moser 33spline axles spool and c clip elim,girdle,braced and welded tubes
Home made upper and lower rear control arms and anti roll bar
Strange front brakes.Stock rear brakes with cross drilled rotors
Aluma star 2.0 fronts.Weld Weldstar rears Black with Black Chamipon beadlocks
MT 295/55/15 Dr's
TH400 Trans

Alot of stock parts for an 8 second car!

he's on SVTP

what do you mean, without spending too much?
the guy is an awesome fabricator, and it STILL cost him an arm and a leg to build that track-only car.

well, they started out stock, I'm not so sure I would still consider them stock though

but either way, it is an awesome car, very clean

worked over or not, im just kinda surprised you can get a 4V anywhere near 8's without at least aftermarket heads and block.

What aftermarket blocks and heads are gonna be better than a Teksid and 4V Modular heads?
Teksid blocks are used in 2000+hp race engines and the 4V heads flow more than enough to make huge power with FI.

Look up John Mihovertz.

It's a 9.2 car, not an 8 second car. When it runs the number and backs it up, it's an 8 second car. Cut the ricer math.

On that note, his combination is an extremely modified stock block and head combination, to the point where the cost would be the equivalent of 302 guys using aftermarket blocks and aftermarket heads. Granted, stock 03-04 longblocks can easily make 650whp all day on stock longblocks with twin screws and more with turbochargers. That's still big numbers in my book on stock longblocks, but let's not start this you can make 2000HP on B heads and Teksid blocks statements.

that's what Im starting to think, lol

Although I dont like 4v's I cant say enough about the quality and abuse the block stands up to. As far as B heads they do work well in a forced induction application.

As Bob said, Stock Teksids are awesomely built, modular heads are strong, even though the new TF has come out and is still in the "testing" stage the other castings both 4v and 2v are super strong.



One thing no one seems to notice is the car has BEADLOCKS on DRAG RADIALS!!! thats big time right there. RTCTTFMF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not my math, like I said I quoted this whole thing from another website.

Obviously it has been 8's, so it is an 8 second car.
