GT badge removal

I am wanting to take the factory gt badges off of my car, and I will be replacing them with 2011 5.0 in black.. Are the factory emblems glued, or bolted on?

get some fishing line behind them and work them off. its a glue of sorts lol.

Glue but there are two pins to align them

Ok so the line should cut enough glue to be able to pull it off even with the pins?

that's how I have done those and other stick on emblems a number of times lol.

did this to my rocker stripes! works like a charm.

I used a credit card, but it had just expired so getting it messed didn't matter to me. And definitely heat it up. It will make it a lot easier. I used some rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the glue off the car.

Does the trunk badge have alignment pins as well? I want to take the ford badge off.

Yeah you can feel it through one of the holes inside the decklid

yes it does. i found out the hard way.
if you dont have filler or another emblem to put over it, then its not worth taking off.

I used 3m double side exterior tape and its held up like a champ so far! They've been on since early summer!
