GT taking longer to start

I've noticed here recently my Mustang is taking longer to start. It use to start right up on the first turn. I've tried turning the key to let the fuel pump prime, then start it but it still takes about 2-3 seconds to start. Is that normal? Mine use to start immediately the second I turned the key.
Is my starter wearing out?

I doubt it's the starter.
How old is the ignition parts? Coil too.

I did recently check the spark plugs, they'll probably need to be replaced here real soon as far as the coil and everything else, it's all Motorcraft so I'm sure its never been replaced

Coil is fairly cheap to upgrade

My car is doing the same kind of thing. Turn turning the key to the on position twice on and off and then start the car and see if it starts right up. It has been working every single time for mine but im still not really sure exactly what that means. I bought some techtron fuel system cleaner so im gonna try that and see if it will start up normal again after that goes through the fuel system. If not could be fuel filter or pump i suppose

Yeah see if you turn the key on and off a few times and then start it, if it starts right up then I believe you will find the problem to be the check valve in the fuel pump. I tried several things when my car was doing that and when I finally replaced the fuel pump the problem was gone.

Same thing here, posted in another thread. I noticed today that if I blip the throttle right before it stalls, I'm back in business. Fuel filter first, going to start easy. At least the tank is easy to drop in one of these

Ohhhh, Yeahhhh.... Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, Huge Seafoam treatment induction & gastank, Turn that key forward 2-3 times before starting it.
Like everyone here has said- These items will work unless ignition coil is wanting to give up.
P.S.-EGR vacuum lines leak too, same with CAI tubing loose straps. Please update!

It got up to about 70 degrees the other day, and i did not get any starting issues on multiple starts, till it got cold again, That mean anything besides battery?

A fuel filter is very affordable and can be changed out if your first time doing it in about 30-45 minutes underneath the rear bumper***
My opinion is to investigate your battery. Advance Auto/Pep Boys provide load bank tests for free. I wound not necessarily buy one of theirs but they do test for free. I am extremely happy with my Red Optima Battery & the multi-year warranty. Loadbank testing will tell the tell. RED and YELLOW are the Optima Battery choice to fit in our cars nice and snug. Cheaper in the long run and in my car with UDPulleys, there is no hesitation when Max AC is turned on. So... Good luck and update please.
One last thing- I could not eliminate my starting issues until I took the terminal off of the copper cable completely, cleaned it with break fluid, then re-assemble. Good Luck-

Oh no, Why?? your gonna burst my bubble! I love the Optima for my car needs, inparticular picking up the load smoothly with my underdrive pulleys. More important than that is on 100 degree days the Optima shows no "hesitation" or slight drop in rpm's when I turn on AC Max.
I had a Diehard Platinum series and it would always directly or indirectly cause rpm's and idle to increase/fluctuate when the AC was turned on or slightly when the radiator fan would turn on. It was very slight but it was noticeable to me and I didn't like it at all. The Optima Red I have is all smooth sailing, steady idle, all the time. That is the couple of reasons that caused me to switch. I love it so far- Eight months now. Three year warranty from our local "Mom and Pops" store here.
Everybody & Anybody should read up on why the Optimums are disliked by some because they work hard for me. I would get another one again and again just because of it's capability to pick up and handle any spiked load thrown at it. i just love it here, inside the V6. I have variable that stand my car apart also- its tuned, lots of mods, 300K miles, ect...... So it's a great upgrade for this here V6 thats in need of some extra amperage supplied all the time! For me, it's the best. Thanks, and please share the other stories, not so great!!!!
