thanx man it will be getting painted in march and windows tinted 5 or 15 % not sure yet but im putting heads cam lt headers x pipe gaskets seals main rod bearings new clutch hopefuly with in the next 2 weeks wewill see

iv never owned a new edge dont get me wrong i would like to but not to build i rally dont like 4.6s i guess i dont know really how to work on them thats why i stay with the 5.0

i have owned over 50 mustangs and i would say the 4.6 sohc is a good engine,the 4.6 dohc is a great engine....the 5.0 is an amazing engine with endless aftermarket followings. thats just my opinion

same way i feel i jst never messed with any of the 4.6s hardly so i stay away from them

i think the 4.6 sohc is a great engine to have for a dd,i just never have alot of luck when trying to make them fast.......i get to the low 13s and then its like i hit a brick wall(without forced induction or nitrous).....the dohc on the other hand is a monster, all you really need with those are exhaust,intake and some steep gears and its a screamer.......the thing i like about a 5.0 is how easy it is to work on.....slap a cam,some craigslist heads, and an intake on them and they are a monster........just cant beat that engines bang for the buck!

Lol the SOHC is a PITA to do cams on too thats for sure. I'm in the process of replacing my heads, and tearing it down is cake. Walk in the park, but to get the timing right oughta be fun.. NOT. Can't even imagine the DOHC. I got a buddy who has a tool designed specifically for timing on these motors so that should make it easy. But still I'd take a simple pushrod over OHC any day for ease of working on.

I almost picked up a 94 Cobra a few months back would have daily'd it too but just couldn't get what the guy was asking for it. 5.0's are just badass all around, easy to work on, easy to make power, cheap parts, HUGE aftermarket availability, and you can put any freakin exhaust on them and they sound good. I can't say the same for the 4.6.... LOL. You should have fun with that 5.0 man, kinda wish I had one myself sometimes. But then again when I'm gettin 21-23mpg while making a decent amount of power... It's the best of both worlds if you ask me
