wow, i didn't know the irons outflowed the aluminums. good info. hadn't seen these before and only knew they somewhat outperformed the gt40s.

I have a full list of pretty much every head you could ever think of.

Cylinder head flow data

Even ported heads from Fox Lake, Patriot Ported, Total Engine Airflow etc.

I have stuff from Ford 2.0 Pinto all the way to 460ci heads..

I have a whole list...starting from:

Manufacturer
Part Number Port/Vol
Int/Exh
Valve Size
Combust. Chamber Volume

Whats the info on AFR 185's ?

My apologies for the lack of details... I was going to run NMRA Factory Stock again this year; however, I wanted to drive the car to/from the track (1.5 hours each way) without having to refresh the short block twice in the same year. For those who follow, the class cars run extremely lightweight internals, while use a lose setup on the rings/bearings (both wear down quick).

My setup is a 331 with Eagle rods n crank and light weight Mahle pistons. Everything is balanced by Clayton Racing (FYI, there is more balancing to be found after the out of the box balance/blue print). Windage tray and main support were also installed. The non-ported Cobra heads are milled and have a 5 angle valve job (lightweight valvetrain -springs, valves, titanium retainers, 1.7 rockers, etc.). Cam motion made the custom cam (230's/550's). Cobra intake is stock. Both the heads and intake are from when the car was ran in NMRA Factory stock class. Car is using the stock power steering pump, but the A/C is removed.

77 Pro M mass air and 70 mm Edlebrock TB
30 lbs injectors, MSD ignition 6AL, Two Step, 255 lph Holley fuel pump, Aero Fuel pressure regulator.
Kooks LT headers, Kooks O/R X pipe, SLP Loudmouth
Tuning software: PMS Generation 4

The remainder is still the race setup from when the car ran the Factory Stock class (weight still removed).

Additional tricks were used, but those above are the big items. For those who don't follow NMRA, in the Factory stock class, some are using the same heads/intake combo as I but with less cubes and a .480 lift maximum on the cam specs. They are making very similar HP as I.

There is still more power to be found in the my combo as I am light at 350 rwhp / 376 rwtq (humid day). But the track is the true test as the dyno is simply a yard stick when tuning.

I agree, aftermarket heads/intake would signicantly increase power, but the maddening spend on the car has to stop somewhere.
