I'm almost at 100K and doing fine other than the timing chain slappin around.

How do you know your timing chain is slapping around?

You can hear it coming from behind the timing cover... I've ruled out all the accessories so I think the timing chain has a little slack in it. It's somewhere between a rattle and a knock is the best way I can describe it.

Exactly, with a 7k rev limiter and running on pray, probably as carefully as you set your rev limiter, how can you call it a shitty motor?
ok smartass i didnt even turn 6k on the spray and the car has aftermarket cams and valve springs it pulled good after 6k.... and i call them shitty motors because you can put every bolt on known to the car without going into the motor and you can get 220whp on a v8 thats why the motors suck... i got the car for nothing and its gonna he wickid when its put back together for what i got in it .... doesnt change the fact the powdered rods and pistons suck ass in these things and they cant outrun n/a hondas in stock trim

280-290 on motor prolly 420 on the nitrous for a smaller shot. If you go 200 i would expect mid 400s

why get a blower, so he has to tear down the motor to lower the compression? Ive seen a ton of nitrous cars outrun blower cars. Blowers just dont impress me. Spend at least 2-3k on a kit plus a tune, and end up right where youd be with a properly setup nitrous kit. Not to mention better gas mileage, since you dont have the added horsepower all the time. But its there if you want it with a flick of the switch. My car will be going back on the bottle soon. 150 shot ftw.

nitrous is like steroids its alomost liek the easy way out. no offense to the poster but thats just my take.

if it doesnt put down 300whp on motor then something is wrong with it, thats every bolton known to man , ported polished heads with oversized stainless valves , valves springs and the nastiest n/a cam that modmax sells with a 11.1 compression :hammer:

i mean thats when you put on the bottle. after all the funs over but thats the fun about having hte underdog. with mustangs we have to put alot work and money but when we see those camaro and ta guys in our mirror makes it all worth it

I would say around 310 on motor and 450 easy on spray!

im going to have a very similar set up minus teh built motor. My topend is going on in 4 weeks!

im going to start off with a 150 shot and if all goes well then a direct port 200 shot... should be around 500whp, but im sure the tranny isnt gonna hold it .... i got a spec stage 3 clutch so im good on that end and i got a bit of suspinsion.... im aiming for 7 flats in the 1/8 maybe a high 6... my friends camaro made 515whp and went a 6.84 at 100mph so i should be about the same hp to weight ratio with even more torque im sure :TY:
