meh i wouldn't call ya crazy. as long as you know what you want, and can afford it, i say do it. i have a little girl on the way, so my budget for motor is 'in-stone' as of now. no extras for now. and no aluminum block means i can shift that money to an electric water pump.

I have a very good friend who is in the process of putting a mark 8 motor in a mark 7 i think it is... either way he is a very knowledgable man and when we were looking at doing my teksid after he is half way down his, he enlightened me. If a teksid block is taken apart like a normal cast block there will be issues. The way the block is set up with tolerance and other specifications the block will actually twist and warp if the block isnt sequenced correctly for tear down. You may want to have that block checkd.
any idea on where i could get the info on a proper tear down?i'm getting a 1993 mark8 motor for free and would rather not ruin it.
