Just wondering. Kind of happened to me today. I know i parked by another mustang, but when i got back out the store my car was nowhere to be found :confused1: :crybaby2:

Looked down the hill and seen it stopped in the middle of the streetway in the parking lot of the mall.

So glad it didn't hit anything or no1 hit it while it was rolling.

The brake was up, but it wasn't in gear. Not sure why b/c i always put it in gear.. maybe it popped out. :angry7:

Not me.. but my friends and I went to eat the other day, parked normal and all, then went to eat. About halfway through the meal, one of my friends says "that's a nice parking job Jess (my other friend) haha!". I rode in with Jess in his '88 Foxbody and looked up to see his car parked across two whole parking spots. "Uhhh, dude, we didn't park like that" Which is when we noticed a Toyota Avalon with a bashed in front corner/fender. Turns out some old lady "missed" the brake and rammed his car about 6 feet across the parking lot along with my other friend's civic. Crazy old people driving... Didn't do much, but he was a bit ticked off to say the least.

there was an ebrake recall? lol

all of certain years or what? And i would have no idea if mine had it done or not
Me neither and every since i bought my stang(3yrs ago) the handbrake always felt like it would never fully engage correctly or hold the car very securely. Now my ebake brake is shot on one side and i have to park the car in gear. :BangHead:

I always park my car in 1st gear. I said when i checked the car after it rolled it was in neutral. Never had this happen in the 5.5 years of owning a 5spd stang. So either i forgot to put in gear when getting out the car or it popped out.

yeah I used to have a Ranger 4x4. I let my brother use it and he didnt put the parking brake on or leave it in gear, it rolled down a hill and hit a tree. It was a total loss.

My ebrake cable is snapped...I always park mine in gear, I have no other options.

LOL...sure you do...fix the cable! I just couldn't resist. Sorry.

Wow I cannot believe how many don't bother to leave it in gear or use the E brake! Why would you not take all precautions against it rolling? I mean my car is very important to me & I never fail to use both ever. If you are not leaving it in gear do you REALLY trust the weak E Brake? That is not logical as Spock would say. I have a steep driveway & would never trust just one way alone!

I always use Park & the E Brake on my auto cars too! I don't want the parking pawl to absorb all the stress of the cars weight. I assume it might help if my car was bumped too...makes me feel better.

Most of the land I ever park on is flat(for the mustang or auto taurus), so for the auto i only leave it in park.. It all depends on the situation and where im leaving it.. Otherwise its usually just the ebrake.. But i do use both quite often.
