hey guys.

I sent JR a text, but with no reply, so I dont want to bother him... so i figured i ask the rest of you lovely ladies.
My buddy has a 89 fox with HCI + a few bolt ons.

His car has gone through 3 transmissions now. his OEM T5, a scrap T5, and a G-force brand new from jegs T5....

do you guys suggest Gforce, or TKO? What are the differences? any suggestions on a proper install?

Thanks everyone! :headbang:

How about a warranty from Jegs?

Tell them the trans blew up and you need a replacement. I assume it was not a top notch G Force because those transmissions are designed to take a beating.

i guess not... ... lol. but either way, any suggestions on TKO vs. GForce? where to buy? proper install tips?

his dad is an old timer gear head and they did the HCI in his garage. and im sure all 3 trannys went in in the garage as well.

it was pretty straight forward on the first install (i was there for it): tighten bell housing bolts at the same time, ensure that everything is aligned properly, spin output shaft on tail end of transmission while tightening bolts to avoid binding of junk on inside of transmission.

now, after erading what i just posted, keep in mind my job was to spin the output shaft until it wouldnt spin anymore... .. lol. if they did something wrong up north, i couldnt see it, as I was laying on my back with a tranny between my legs (someone sig that, i dare you.... ....)

anyways, give me some feedback here amigos, should he try a tko this time?

they are not a problem to install. there are several threads here about installing them. Just search and read.

I'm running a 3550 as well and its held up pretty well to 3 years of racing at the track on slicks 5,000 RPM dumps off the line and power shifting. Guess you can say I throw everything at it I can and its been great for me. My mods/power level are in my sig I'm by no means making tranny busting power numbers but I'm not easy on it either. If I ever did break this one ( most likely being the input shaft) I would either just upgrade that or go w/ the Gforce/TKO
