How, what and why. Why do you have one laying around.
Because I adore the 4v 4.6 and I really want to (re)build one for myself one day and put it in the bullitt. Which was supposed to have a 4v from factory but got denied because SVT used them in the Cobra.

But a cobra engine is very rare and expensive in europe (10k ish). So when I saw a lincoln aviator getting parted out last year with a running engine, I bought it. It's the exact same engine as the 03 mach 1. Just need a mustang intake manifold, some headers and an oil pan. Already have a mach 1 front timing cover.

But lately the thought of swapping the engine of the only 2001 bullitt in the country while mine only has 38k miles started to seem like a bad idea in terms of originality. So I'm on the fence now. All my other mods are pretty reversable if someone wants an original bullitt, but an engine swap might hurt the value.

Yeah I definitely understand you. And this is certainly an interesting topic. What build year is the engine from? Cause if it has PI headers on it already, I would be very interested in it.
Cause upgrading from a 2V 4.6 to a 4V 4.6 doesn't make much sense even if the stock power is a bit higher. And (biased opinion) the 2V sounds better

But I am definitely interested.

It's an 03 4v motor like the mach1, PI heads are 2v. Upgrading makes lots of sense, with longtubes only this motor can make 350hp. With cams, 400hp is possible. Hell, I bought it as an upgrade for my 265hp bullitt.

2v PI heads are severly limiting making power on a 2v engine, unless youre supercharging.

The 2v to 4v swap Is a good swap, aside from what he mentioned to make the engine fit. Only modification to my knowledge to make it run right Is flipping thr polarity on thr coil packs. The pi headers to my knowledge won't seal up on a 4v engine since the ports are different shapes.

Welcome! The car looks good, I love the silver.

Hmm. I'm definitely learning new things! Will keep this in mind for sure. I was originally going the hard route and going for 400whp with forced induction but yeah I would be throwing a lot of money into it in the long run and if I could make the same power with a 03' 4Valve NA, it would definitely be an easier option to go with.

400hp, 300-350rwhp. 400rwhp na is possible with more mods like high compression, but it aint easy.

Your dyno'd 213 is engine hp, probably 180rwhp. So going to 300/350rwhp is quit a difference

Oh definitely.
I will keep it in mind. But I'm not planning to buying an engine or doing an engine swap soon. It will likely be something for next year if possible. (also got the MOT coming up )
By the way, do you know what the rules are regarding engine swaps in our country? It would require a complete new inspection doesn't it?

Yes and no. Our registration sais its a 4600cc V8. Which is still is, and no inspector would know that our cars would have a 2v instead of a 4v, so I wouldnt say anything.
