I own a 95 with the following mods, BBK equal length shorties,BBK x pipe, flowmaster 40 series mufflers, ford racing plug wires, accell coil, just installed 4.10 gears out back. The car is a automatic. I have Weld draglites at all corners big & littles, Eibach springs & shocks. The engine has 104K. It runs really well with no issues at all. It still has all the factory airbox/ distributer etc.. the timing was changed to 12* initial instead of 10.Basically I would like to do something to help out more in the performance areas. What do some of you suggest? without breaking the bank. I have $200-$500.00 to play with.

You could also add a fuel pressure regulator and bump up FP a couple of PSI - that seems to work reasonably well for most folks. Plus, they're cheap. :)

However, I think an intake would provide better benefits at this point.

73mm MAF+70mm TB+24# injectors+JLT Cold Air intake+ Cobra U/L intake... you can find most of that used if you don't mind buying used parts... but it might cost more than $500... haha... if you can't find a Cobra Intake, i would recommend atleast the JLT cold Air intake. also, those flows a lot of guys are running... i watched a comparison(from Banks) the Flows 40 series flow about 40%, where as magnaflow was at 65%, and the Banks Glasspack was at a whopping 90%... i would say find a new muffler that flows more air... but thats just me. you might like the sound of the car :dunno:

I would work in a series. Start at the air filter and work your way back. CAI, Then TB. ( I would get a big MAF same time you do injectors.) Then manifold you can go cobra but in my opinion I wouldn't do a production intake unless you were gonna use gt40 heads. I guess in my experience with both of them you'll never be faster than a modded cobra. but if thats what your after good.

What about a nitrous kit? I see a company named dyno tune has a kit for under $400.00. Do you guys think that would work with all the stock air intake stuff? I'll have to look at the rpm while doing 60mph. I know my speedo is off a bit.

I used to with my last ride... Here it is. It was old skool. Big cubes, Big Carb. I jumped the fence switched brands. I just loved the sn95 Ford body style done up in a drag race kinda look. I just dont know anything about Ford engine/ fuel injection yet and what parts help/hurts these cars. I mean I know they can be built up to flat out go. I've been to a couple NMRA events. Just what works and what doesnt is what I need to find out. I really want to be able to learn this car and just have fun and drive it. But you know how it is.. I gotta be able to hang... The Z28 Camaro I had would usually run 10.00-10.20's @ 135mph. It was a ton of street fun but..It really was more "race" then street. I would like to get this 95 Mustang car into the high 11 second zone some day but yet be able to cruise easily.
I hope nobody wants to flame me for posting a Z28 pic. lol. Sorry. Thanks for all your guys input. I enjoy reading all the good info that's available through this site.

I'm a chevy guy by birth also but also like my fords. I have an s10 with a 383 sitting next to my stang in the garage. most of the same principles apply to 302's as 350's. You know how to build a car and thats what matters. just do it don't over think it.

Thats a sweet camaro! I'm a Big LS1 fan but my 5.0 is cheaper and easier to work on myself. I think we should all join together and take out the rice for good! :puke: :rice:
