HElp! stalling problems

my friends 91 GT

is having problems

it has hesitation problems

it wont stay on

and i hear a popping sound coming from underneath the car

like a back fire but not really

Sounds like a misfire, is the check engine light blinking? Maybe he needs a massive tune up.

new air, fuel filters, new plugs, new magnetic pick ups, new rotor and dist. cap,

the foxes have probs with the ignition control module going out. that the thing mounted to the front of the dizzy. on the 94/94's it was moved to under the airfilter away from the heat.

sounds like a mis fire to me... thats what my car sounded like when 3 of my 8 spark plug wires werent on tight...

Did you put the plug wires on the right plug. If the firing order is off it will misfire and back fire through the exhaust. That is where I would start.

def. sounds like a timing/ignition problem to me... chiltons and haynes has alot of problem solving suggestions and troubleshooting...
