hey guys

i'm running a 331 stroker, peformer rpm heads and intake. 10.5 compression. currently, i've got a 70mm throttle body, 73 mm c&l intake pipe. i've really been reading that i need to open up the intake side to make some more power. i'm only making about 325 at the tires right now, and my tuner said that my combo has more left in it. any suggestions on mass air type and size, throttle body size, and what kind of intake pipe i should be looking at?

any help would be appreciated

I would try running a 75 mm throttle body to match the opening of your intake manifold. Also , you can try to get a aftermarket mass air, but ive heard bad things from going that route. I would port your stock one, and take the stupid bridge out of it. All of this might get you 10 hp. if that. Try this link.

It sounds like your getting pretty good power from your setup already!

thanks for the advice. i was thinking about moving up to 75mm on the throttle body, and maybe a c&l 80mm trueflow pipe
what are your thinking on injector size? i'm running 24lbs right now, and i've had a little trouble with running lean. would 30's be a better choice?

it all depends on your tune. 24 lb injectors are good to about 350 hp. , you can go 30 lb., but your going to have to get your mass air re-calibrated. I would try the t /b and mass air, and go with a bigger intake tube. also...

What fuel pressure are you running?

You need a MAF thats calibrated for the size injectors you have. The Performer RPM has a 73mm opening, so a 75 mm TB is a good choice. I would step up to 30# injectors. 24#ers top out at about 340hp. And at that point you NEED a MAF to go with those injectors. And then a good dyno tune. You should be able to get 350+ at the wheels with your setup.

my fuel pressure is set at 40psi, i'm going to go with the 30# injectors, and a 75mm throttle body. what size maf, and what type of intake pipe would you guys recommend? i'm running a c&l 73mm trueflow pipe right now, that has the mass air flow bracket built into it. i just took my stock maf and bolted it onto the pipe.

thanks again guys

What are your plans for the car? To be honest I think you should just go for the 90mm Lightning maf and 40#ers kit. The maf is a good one and plenty big enough while the injectors leave you a lot more room to get more power out. http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=635

What size injector are you running right now? I agree on the Throttle body, you might not get huge gains out of going to a 75 from a 70 but with you having a stroker and other goodies you should see decent gains.

right now i'm running 24# would you run that 90mm lightning mass air with a cold air intake? i have a bbk cold air that i haven't used in awhile, i was just measuring the intake itself, and it looks about 3 inches in diameter. i would be bolting the lightning mass air to it. Would going from that mass air down to the cold air pipe be a problem?

As for my plans for the car, i've had it together for about 3 years now, just looking to iron out some little problems. It's mostly a daily driver in the summer, with 2 or 3 visits to the track.
