Ok so I have some kind of crazy pressurizing problem, This started very randomly the other night, so here we go.

If I drive my car or have it running for like 5 minutes or more it will get a ton of pressure in the cooling system the top radiator hose gets like rock solid to the point I think it will burst and I get this crazy hissing sound like a tea kettle, I also leak coolant like a crazy (looks like its raining under my car) I pulled some stuff off and found the leak it is right where the timing cover seals against the block on the top passenger side, so I need to replace that obviously. Which im assuming will be a huge pain? Any Input?

Also my main question is how is my car getting that much pressure? I thought i must have blown a head gasket but I dont really have any of the symptoms, no blue or white smoke no moisture coming out of the exhaust and my coolant still looked clean. I know I should do a compression test just havent had a chance to, any idea what it could be?

My car is a 1995 GT

Just off the top of my head it sounds like a head gasket. When this occurs, different things can happen as far as symptoms.
Appears the breached gasket is allowing the compression from a cylinder to leak into the water jacket thereby over pressurizing the cooling system. After that the weakest seal in the system will let go and release coolant. The hissing sound can be very dangerous... avoid source!

You shouldn't really have a leak involving the timing cover gasket as there is only a chain, gears and low pressure oil behind it.
Let it cool down a while, remove the rad cap, slowly release pressure and restart. Don't hose it down with cold water. If the coolant starts to boil rather quickly, a gasket is gone.

Be carefull, you don't want the burns from it.

The night it happened I got home and released the pressure by pulling off the rad cap then let it sit for a while the started it drove it up my street so maybe 200 feet and it was completely pressurized again I havent driven it since. Today I pulled things off to get to where it seemed the leak was coming from, I poured a glass of water into the rad and about 10 seconds later I could see it start pouring down out behind the timing cover and against the block.

Pass. side of water pump at block? Check the W/P's weep hole.

Still shouldn't normally be heating up that quick.

I will check it but I can see right where the water is leaking out from the timing cover against the block, and yeah im not sure why its getting this much pressure I dont know how it could pressurize that much.

Well I went ahead and replaced pretty much every gasket along with my head gaskets, and it was definately leaking coolant from that timing cover right where the water pump flows water through it, anyways everything is back together now but I am having timing issues it sucks, at first I had the dizzy in 180 degrees backwards, now I finally got it to start up but you can tell its really off.

Double ck your firing order. Are you using a timing light? stock timing is 10*btdc, you can bump it to 12-14* for more power

Ok so tonight we timed my car got it perfect, drove it around the block, it felt like it was missing or something wasn't right so I got back and my friend noticed that the wires going into the dizzy were exposed and sparking so they looked pretty fried and it didnt spin too well, so we went and bought a new one and we get back and it seemed a little tough getting in but we got it all hooked up.

So I went to start it and all it would do is crank, and the fuel pump was no longer priming either, I have half a tank of gas, and we checked the swithc in the trunk so those two things are checked, and I just put a new pump in maybe a year ago.

Anyways my question is does the distributor somehow connect to the fuel system to where it would be affecting the fuel system, because it is the only thing we touched from the time I just drove it until now when it is just cranking.

Ok so I fixed it, apparently when my old dizzy shorted it blew a fuse under the dash that stopped the pump.

So now I have a new problem, I replaced that fuse and the pump was priming just fine, we started it and timed it, it was running fine had it running for about a half hour drove it a couple miles and then I was sitting at a stop light and just as I began to move I depressed the clutch and gas it just like normal and right when I let the clutch out all the way it like jerked and died, I tried to start it but it just cranks and I again no longer hear my fuel again, and I noticed I have no check engine light coming on, when I turn the key over it doesn't come. Anyone have any idea? Maybe a loose ground?

I replaced the dizzy a couple of nights ago when the other one was shorting out, last night it was driving fine and then all a sudden it just died and wouldn't restart and I have no idea why but now I can't hear my fuel pump when I turn my key over and the engine just cranks.

I have it somewhat narrowed down I think, I just replaced my fuel pump last july so it has been in there a little over a year, its a walbro 190lph pump, my check engine light no longer comes on when I turn my car on which sounds to me like maybe there is something going on with the ccm? So here are the things I am thinking.

1) My fuel pump that I replaced a year ago has failed and went out, so it is no longer priming and not letting the car start, and also my check engine light bulb burnt out and that is why it no longer turns on when my key is turned over.

2) My CCM is trashed and is no longer sending a signal to prime my pump and it is causing my check engine light not to come on as well.

I dont know which one seems more likely to be causing the problem or if something else would be doing it?

the dizzy sends a signal to the ccrm to turn the fp on. (I have gotten a bad remanned dizzy before) so don't rule that out automatically.
It's not uncommon for a relay in the ccrm to go out either. I have heard the ccrm can be found at auto zone but I can't confirm

The dizzy I bought was a remanned one from autozone, should I try replacing that with another one right now before I try anything else?
