high 13 seconds??? confused

ok guys i'm a little confused here Is it possible to get a 94 gt 5.0 5sp to run high 13's? high 8's in the 1/8 mile? stock? ok not stock but medicore mods?

ok let me start fro mthe beginning here.
i have a 94 gt 5.0 this was a long time ago when I ran an 8.974 @ 79-80mph. Now this car had M/T 275 drag radials, msd6 digital with 2step, home made intake, Mac 1 3/4 longtubes with X pipe and cherry bombs and a mcleoud stage 3 clutch, i removed the rear seats but it still had A/C and P/S.
I ran the time stated above with a 2.008 60 foot (stock gears) 3.08 final drive.

IS this possible? because everyone bashes on 5.0 sn95's swearing they are the slowest.

yes very possile with basic bolt ons are cars go mid to low 14's / high 13's. stock they run high 14's low 15's for 5 speeds, if its a 5.0 fox or notch they can run mid to low 14's stock, so high 13's is easy

no i was just wondering since 2000 and up pi gt's have an advertised 260hp but they are really around 230-240hp to the wheel stock and that is the same times they trap in the 1/4. witha drag radials maybe mid 13's so i was just brainstorming. thanks

with mods a 2 valve with 260 crankhp , with bolt ons will make 230-250rwhp, but not stock, and with cams they make 260-280, same with a 5.0 or 2 valve gt, once u do heads or pi ported heads and cams then they make about 260-300rwhp etc...

You can see my mods to my 95' in my sig. Minus the bottle, it went a 14.2 on street tires with a 2.1 60ft.
If I had some stickies, it would have definitly been in the 13's

your not hte first i've heard of with minimal mods to break high 13's with a 94-95...with the mods in sig it went [email protected] w/ 2.2 60' on street tires and full weight the 13.5 was on dr's.

The modular engines now are wicked awesome, but they had a rocky start.

npi pistons had a low piston dish when coupled with a pi head you have the highest compression ratio from stock to stock of the npi pi combos

5.0 and 4.6 npi's are both slow in stock form

both can run high 13s with minimal mods if you know what your doing

yeah compared to what is out there now Stock VS Stock they are both at a disadvantage.
