uhhhh yeah it's not good, 5.0s take 10w-30 for a reason. 5w-50 is way too thick when warmed up. BTW redo the hood teal with black scoops, and make it more even this time.

Yeah I know it's a bit thick, but I honestly think a little extra cushin doesn't hurt either. Being a some what high milege car... Hood is gonna keep the same colors, im just leveling it out. Anyone out there, interested in a hood swap?????

If your oil is too thick you run the risk of starving your bearings of oil, which will cause you to spin one.

5W-50 good for diesel engines.
Speaking of oil, I'm happy to have the AM connection getting their Amsoil oil filters. I can keep it on the car longer w/Mobil1 ES.

man I was hoping I was not running the wrong oil, never heard of anyone using in a 5.0. Wouldn't extra coushin = more oil = thinner?

I ran 20W50 in my old 88 5.0 It leaked 1 liter per week with 10w30, with 10w40 1 liter every two weeks and it only went down .5 liter a month with the crude.

Start using 5w-30 or what ever is listed under the oe hood or engine bay and it will run longer. The comment regarding the importance of getting oil between the bearings ect. is no joke.
