Hood cable broke. Help!

So, I went to pop my hood today to install a new cap and rotor on my 94 GT, and the cable snaps.

The hood didn't even open, it's still closed.

I cut back some of the cable to get to the wire, then pulled on the wire to at least get the hood to pop, and it's almost like it's jammed now..

I'm going to the junk yard to pick up some things so I'm gonna get a another cable assembly.

How can I get the hood to pop?

try pushing down on the hood to reset the latch. if that doesn't work you'll have to get it from under the hood. maybe through the grill opening, but more likely than not, from under the car. it's going to be a PITA
