Still hoping that it will not be totaled and looking around at some hoods. I considered upgrading to a nice CF hood but wasn't sure if the prices I was seeing was for some crap-made versions or if these are ok? Anyone used these or know of anyone that has?

I actually always liked the look of the stock hood so I kinda liked the idea of a CF stock version just so that it would not stick out too bad as a custom hood till the weave was noticed.

As for the different styles I also liked the heat extractor version, was surprised the price was not higher again....

Short of those two I like the y2k cobra R style but didn't see any versions of those two in this range. Should I be expecting to pay more to get something that lasts?

I would paint the edges of it and maybe tint the center section with some black candy paint so that it look basically black until you get up on it. Would like to pain the roof with the same black candy paint.

Just saw the VIS this afternoon. A little more expensive but as I said I was almost afraid those were too cheap. I know CF isn't cheap to do right so if I am gonna do it I know I will end up paying..... Anyone even heard of these brands I posted earlier?

Maybe get a stock CF hood and paint it DFG but leave a stripe of CF showing

That is what I was planning on doing with it no matter which style. Just wanted too keep the center section raw and possibly a black candy on it just to keep it from looking too CF...

Hate that happened to your car. As far as carbon fiber hoods go, the ones made with real cf will yellow from the suns uv rays. If you really like the cf loo you could have a hood wrapped with the 3M cf vinyl or have it painted to resemble cf.

Hopefully this will be the hood. I decided I wanted the extra space under it for when I supercharge it later. Really liked the look of the heat extractor but I am afraid it limits the space under it even more then the stock hood does and I already too the fire-blanket out because it was rubbing.

I figure if I am going to put a hood on it, why not make it worth while?
