how do i take off the door panels?

how do i take off the door panels and the rear quarter panels? i want them off to paint the upper half black like the 94-96's , for some stupid reason ford stopped doing that in 97

you need take out the rear seat, and some pins by the door jam in order to get to the quarter panel.

oh and remove the seat belt. not an easy task. lol

I think the last 2-tone door panels were actually on the '95's.

Better use some Fusion paint or something as the '94 - '95 were molded in color. If the paint you use chips or scratches off they will look like crap.

Fusion is Krylos paint for plastic, you can buy it pretty much anywhere

i would get specific interior paint to do this. its not so much a paint as it is a dye.

for the door panels, pop out the door cups (be careful not to break the tab at the bottom). two screws remove the buttons from the cups. push the handle cup out from the inside. there are two screws hidden behind the door cup, remove them. Then on the door jab hinge side there is a plastic friction pin, pull that out. Then lift the door panel up and out slowly because you'll have to disconnect the power lock harness. fairly simple to do.
