Well Dad bought a 1990 ford tempo 2.3 L for 200 bucks it runs great had some bad battery cables we replaced put a new battery in it but found there is a water leak from a hose on the back of the motor under the throttel body. I wish I had a pix to show you but anyway it comes out of the engine, has a factory hose clamp on that end, then it turns down 90 degrees into a metal tube that runs across the back of the motor "FWD" where it connects to this metal tube there is a connection that looks like something on a ac hose. :BangHead: well how do you get this hose off the tube. anyone else seen this, or know anything about it. I could sure use some help with this. thanks :icon_salut:

I would need a picture to see what were talking about. if it is a hose that looks like a AC hose it may have a fitting do you have a set of ac line removal tools???

Does the fitting you are refering to look like this:
hose_connectors.jpg

If so, then it's a pressed on fitting and you cannot remove it, you should replace it.

This is the only close pic i could find, supposedly it's off an escort, so similar, but not the same engine..
Does the coolant line look like the one in this pic (the throttle body on the right obviously):

YES A GOOD BIT BUT IT GOES FROM THE BLOCK TO A STEEL LINE THAT GOES ACROSS THE BACK OF THE MOTOR THEN ANOTHER RUBBER HOSE, CONNECTED WITH HOSE REGULAR HOSE CLAMPS TO THE HEATER CORE I DONT REMEMBER SEEING THE FITTING THAT A OPEN END WRENCH WOULD FIT BUT IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS CRIPPED TO THE STEEL LINE.

You can tell where the hole in the hose was from the red rusty looking stuff on it follow it down the lower end of the hose and you can see fords better Idea for making it a PITA to change this thing
