Ok so I was wondering, I already have the PI Intake and I can get the cams for like 100 bucks or so or should I just setup is up and get PI heads (with cams alraedy in them)?

How much do PI headswaps usually run?

Not sure what your asking. How much are PI heads? 300-400 bucks used then the cost to get them cleaned up then the cost for you o get someone to install them.

I'd be installing them myself so wouldn't have to worry about labor fees...

300 complete?

Don't know. You would have to check classifieds on different mustang boards to see what is out there.

Then you have to add in the cost of gaskets and new head bolts and stuff like that.

Well my total cost of PI part was 800 for nice new shiney ported heads with supposedly only 30 drag passes on them. they had also just been freshened up (woo for modular depot classifieds they started out at 1400 but the guy was going to 4v so he wanted to geth rid of them) and scored an intake for 150. headchange kit was 120 or somewhere around there, and 190 for all the misc bolts and gaskets and stuff from a ford dealer. I forgot how much the perceys aluminum exhaust and stage 8's cost so i will say 200 which is probably high. so i spent 1460 ish.

Although that is for just the PI swap I spent a fair amount more more going with long tubes vrs o/r x-pipe and magnapack catback but it was deffinately worth it.

I know new PI heads are around 800 as well. So, depending on where you get stuff it can be cheaper.

On another note I thought about getting some used PI heads that needed some cleaning and such for 200, and I went to a speed shop by me to ask about getting them cleaned up, and they reccomended a valve job as well. So they quoted me at about 400 to hot tank and valve job. So I would have been looking at around 600 for that

Hope that helps.

If you end up moving to Raleigh I can lend you a hand with the swap. I have a hot tank at work so I can disassemble and then clean your heads, too.

I will admit, I do enjoy my PI swap thoroughly. I just cannot wait untill I get 4.10's in there. I hate my 2.73s, redlining in second at 80 is a little excessive. Plus I don't need to haul ass down any highways at 80+ that way I don't get a ticket and get pissed off about how I could have put that money into something alot better.
