$900 from MAACO. And it shows. You will want a better quality company to paint your car. Even if its just a respray. Mine was just a respray and they still managed to f**k it up. Granted the previous owner had it done. He was satisfied but I would not of let it leave the shop. They did absolutely no prep work. The side skirts are full of orange peel and they didn't bother to paint the underside of the bumpers. Do your research, ask around. Word of mouth is the best way...

maaco has a couple of different paint services and if you but their cheapest quality you will get the cheapes quality. I have seen some places that advertise the $400 special with overspray on the exhaust tips and tires. Maaco has a couple of higher price packages available.

And you can see in his pic how important his paint is!

Go in there slap down $400 and say you don't care and it will be different.

Bottom line: You get what you pay for. Don't be a cheap-a*s when it comes to paint.

I paid $3,200. It was painted by a guy who paints cars that are sold at Barrett-Jackson.

I really want to spend under $1000 because I'm only 16 don't have much cash coming in. But I am gonna do all the body work and most of the prep myself.

My car needed almost zero body work. You won't get anything better tham Maaco or Earl Shibe for less than 1k.

Both of these were my cars painted by my friends dad at earl schieb.
Both were around 700 bucks...
Don't let everyone fill you with shit, some cheap places do, do qualitly jobs. And most of the guys that reply on these threads never even have seen a earl schieb paint job or a macco job. They even offer warrantys. But the only down side is most of their paint is single stage with the clearcoat mixed in. Thats how my first v6 was. (the blue one) but my cobra isnt.

Both of those look good and if I have to I can get it repainted again in a year or two when I will be able to afford a better quality job. Because its really bad right now and I'm tired of looking at it like that.

earl sheib was the name of the place I couldn't remember where they had overspray on the wheels and exhaust tips but this was a girl that didn't care and I am fairly sure paid close to $300 so she got what she paid for. If you go in there and talk to them, let them know that you do care and want it done right they should take care of you.

98: your out-of-focus, HDR photography really speaks nothing of the paint quality from 10+ feet for those that know what they're looking at.

I have a local quality guy "stuck" at a maaco that I take to regularly and get $325 repsprays that add $1k+ to pricetags of cars I flip. Word of mouth is the best source for a local steal.

I had mine done for almost a year now and it still looks just a fresh as when it first came out. I did have one spot tht peeled below my bumper, I took it back and they fixed it in 2 days, for free also.

Yeah ok.. out of focus HDR. phaha. I sold that V6 for 5,500. With 90,000 miles the engine and tranny and with over 230k on the body. Obviously it had to look good for some idiot to pay that much for it.
I don't have a lot of pics of the V6 but here is some more of the cobra.

Want me to post any more of my 700 dollar paint job?

Point is, its your first car, you want it to look good for the first 2 or so years your gonna keep it. Sure its not no show paint job. But 100x better than some faded, peeling crack job. Eventually, you sell it and move on. I cant see paying 2-3k for a paint job on a car that isn't even worth more than what you would pay to get it repainted.

For $700 if your car is still looking that good after a year Thats good enough for me. I mean I'm only sixteen I don't need nor can I afford a show car I just want the best I can get for the amount I'm willing to pay.
