How much would pi heads and cams help me?

Well, Im debating whether or not a pi head/ cam swap would be worth it for my car. I have pretty much very bolt on so thats why I was thinking that the heads and cams would help me a lot more than just a normal pi head swap.

I would imagine that the long tubes,o/r h pipe, tb, plenum, intake would gain a lot more on a pi motor compared to my npi so I was wondering if anyone else had a similar swap.

I would like to be mid 13s atleast if I do the pi swap. I currently have ran 14.1 at 98 with 2.1 60

anyone here swap npi to pi with a lot of bolt ons?

I plan on doing mine soon too. I think I might go to the junkyard for all the parts (intake, cams, possibly heads depending upon how much it all cost). Thats probaly the cheapest place to get them.

PI heads and cams would help. It'll make those bolt ons alittle more worth it.

i too had just about all the bolt ons i could have minus the headers, and i noticed a huge difference in my set up. at first i did just the PI intake and felt a difference in the top end. then i did the PI cams and felt a bigger difference in the top end. finally did the PI heads and felt a significant difference in the top end as well, along with the midrange. the bottom end felt like it suffered a little, but barely anything. as for #'s, before i was able to pull off 2.2x and 2.3x 60' times and 9.2x-9.3x @ 72/5mph in the 8th mile. now with the added weight of the IRS (about 85-100 lbs), im at 2.1x 60' times and 9.0x - 9.1x @ 77-79mph, all on street tires and no drag racing suspension. have no idea what it runs in the 1/4 mile tho, havent taken it out in a long time.

You would get a nice bump with the stuff you have, it would enhance the power you'd pickup from the cams/heads/compression.

Im just weighing my options...I mean if I went with a pi head swap and pi cams I probably would be mid 13 to low 13 at best. I figure I might as well save up and go with some sort of forced induction. Even with the npi heads I bet i could make almost 350 Rwhp compared to far less than 300 with the pi swap..

I would really love to go turbo....turbo stangs make some amazing numbers.
