Just found out I'll be getting around $1,100-$1,200 for my income tax return, you know what that means?!? NEW TRANSMISSION!

For one you shouldnt have put a used clutch in to begin with.

For two when you put your foot on the clutch do you feel and pulsating or vibration? Absolutely sounds to me like your TOB is rubbing on the "fingers" of the pressure plate. Its not going away at the higher RPMs just spinning fast enough your not hearing it as much. This is the same exact sound my car had when my TOB split in 4 pcs and was rubbing the pressure plate and if I pressed in the clutch pedal it would go away.

Wasn't a used clutch. I believe I corrected myself on an earlier post.
Car has a new clutch kit, but a used flywheel.

Sound has been confirmed. I got the chance to get under the car, while it was raining, started the car and could hear the noise was coming from the rear of the transmission. I am 100% sure it is time for a new tranny

Well I finally got up and took my car to a shop today, spent about 2hrs there at a shop called Coles Auto Repair. He took a good look at my car and determined to be a pilot bearing. Not only that but I got a rear main seal leak. So here in January they will be doing a clutch kit from Sachs and doing the rear main seal for $832.

that doesnt make sense... A bad pilot bearing would make noise when the clutch is depressed, because that is when the input shaft is actually turning inside the pilot bearing. You said the noise goes away.

You aren't going to be happy when you get the car back and the noise is still there.

He will pull apart the transmission and if he see's that's not the issue he would call me and let me know that it's another issue. Whatever it takes to get it fixed.
He said he is 100% positive it is the pilot bearing. He said just starting the car and hearing it at idle was enough to determine the issue, regardless he went deeper and took time into finding the issue, I respect the time this guy put into finding the issue with my car and not charging me.

I'm going to try not to be "that guy" and refrain from the "I told you so" when you come back, bitching that you are out $800 some odd bucks and your transmission is still fucked up.

I'm not going to be bitching. This has a great reputation from customers and the BBB, He's got plaques all over the walls at his business, and his warranty program is fucking awesome. This guy know's what he is doing, the fact the he showed me how it all worked and went the extra mile was awesome.

And I have no clue what I am talking about? I guess I should throw my ASE certifications in the garbage, along with the $15k in tools I have, the many years of mustang experience I have PERSONALLY...

but hey, don't take my advise. Hell, I wouldn't have just dropped the trans myself, and rebuilt it in my garage.

not taking sides here, but read Addermk2's sig, this guy knows what hes talking about.

Indeed he does! He really chewed me out for that one!(sig was directed towards me haha) We'll see what happens I guess. I know my red vert has two different sounds in the trans right now.. I think it's the pilot AND TOB. I've just learned to be weary of transmission shops.

I really think you should reevaluate the sound you're hearing and see why Adder's reasoning makes sense. Basically from what you've all said it's impossible for the sound to be the pilot bearing, so I'm not sure how that guy is 100% positive that that is the problem. Just trying to help you out and save some headache down the road, man.
