so i have been trying to sell my 1994 mustang gt for a month now and have had a few interested but once i say auto i can hear there voice change and i already no its a no show. which leaves me with 2 options. keep waiting or install 4.10 and maybe my twisted trickflow heads but im asking $4200 and no one can seem to pull that cash together so if i install those parts and i ask for $5200 it will be even harder to sell so keep waiting or install parts?

Install a B&M hammer shifter and pretend it's a racecar.

Throwing more parts at the engine won't hide the fact that it's an auto.
I'm sure if you're patient enough, you'll find the right buyer.

You said you're currently asking for $4200. What's done to the car?

nothing except exhaust it has off road x pipe and flowmasters. it has a lot of new parts though. rebuilt alternator, rebuilt transmission, new radiator, and a new water pump. i replaced the front and rear main seals to insure no leaks. it was my daily driver but i want a project now that its not

I don't think the automatic tranny has too much to do with it. It's a easy swap if someone wants it bad enough. I'd probably rather drop price than mod and ask more money.

1 month is not too long, have you been ropping the price? How does your price compare with others?

Depending on condition, of course, out here it's a $3000 car. I bought my 94 GT with a T5 for $2K. It was a little rough, but not bad.

I wouldn't throw parts at it. Dont put all the blame on it being an automatic, I waited on the car I got now for awhile and they dropped it from 5500 to when I got it at 3500 and that was for 100k miles on a stock car with cobra Rs and running healthy. Adjust your price some but the lower you go the less you can let the any buyer just to under cut you. Figure out a minimum price you want for it and just make sure not to go under that.

yea iv dropped from $4500 to $4000. there is a 95 for sale nearby for $3500 close to me that needs paint and a new top and there asking $3500 so i think im asking a fair price.

you either drop the price for a quick sale or you let it sit for a little bit until the spring hits and guys get the fever. i think its a fair price but thats without seeing.

yea...I doubt it has anything to do with the auto, theres plenty of buyers out there looking for an auto.

Price seems a bit high.

I was unaware that people paid more than 2-3k for one of these cars in near stock form.

How many miles do you have?

Hows the paint and body?

145xxx and its got the 10 foot paint job

Yea, GLWS but with that mileage and "10 foot paint" I dont see why anyone would pay more than 2-3k for it.

The cars I see for 4-5k usually have a bunch of work done, 331, h/c and typically have wheels and nice paint, etc. and even then, who knows if anyone buys them lol.

Throwing parts and money at a car you're trying to get rid of sounds like a terrible idea, no offense. If you're already sick of it and want it gone, why spend so much on it? That's a huge waste. Just wait it out and lower the price a bit.

They're always hard to sell this time of year. Fall into early Spring isn't really Mustang selling season.

Sounds like you have the right idea just waiting it out. Hard to be patient though...

Personally I think the Auto probably does hurt it. I know whenever myself or friends look around at them online once you see that its an Auto its on to the next one

When I sold my 2000, I had it posted on and off for over three years before I finally got rid of it. Takes time if you want to get your asking price out of it.
