Had a great day. A lot of very fast cars and drivers on the track. First time for me at this track and the car also. 20 plus tears since I have been on the track.
First session was humbling, slowest guy out there by far, couldn't find my way around the track. Ran 4 sessions, I got much better each time out. Each session fewer cars lapped me and I got to run with other cars. Following other drivers really accelerates the learning curve.
I had to skip the 5th sessions, rr axle seal leaking enough to get on the exhaust under certain turns.
Things I learned about the car.
1. 2nd slowest car on the straights. golf r awd, first and second gen. MR2's with turbos were faster as examples.
2. terminal push in the corners. Had to go in soft and throttle out. sweeper decreasing radius turn, just has to endure and be patient.
3. Chassis is rocking and rolling.
a. stock suspension bushings
b. rear axle moving around
c. need heavier spring rates
d. swaybar changes needed to be made

Adjusted koni shocks each session. increasing the compression settings made noticeable improvement

I'm still working thru my thoughts of the day.
