I have been running 275/40/17 on front and 315/30/17 in the rear for about 4 years and never had any issues. My car is lowered about 2 inches as well. I think it also will depend on your driving style a bit too, if you drive in a way that requires you to crank your tires all the way either way you may have a rubbing issue. I drive my car around town, in parking lots, etc and have no issues....
