Well that and the fact that the car's are getting cheap to buy, but they still aren't cheap to make fast. I mean a 2k investment in N/A power might net you 300 hp, 2500 Fi, around 350. That's pretty lame, I think alot of people get discouraged, even if they layed out the cost, they would see it's not much more expensive than any other car with bolt on's.

:agree:

I'd have to disagree with JR's comment on the New Edgers being better looking.. :p

I agree, I love the smooth curves our cars have, edge's just seem toyish to me. I still like 'em but ehh

The car's definitely have potential, it's just most people never tap it. And they do have their shortcomings as well.

That's cause most guys fall into the "bolt-on" powah scam. I started it. Then I did my research, talked to some real Stang owners, builders and realized that bolt-on's are just cosmetic upgrades..lol

I had owned a few foxes before my 96. My favorite stang has always been the sn95's when they came out. So when I told myself I was getting another mustang I knew it was going to be an SN. I found this site before I bought one and started researching. I knew a ton about 5.0's but not much about the modulars. I did end up finding a perfect one owner babied 96 so I got it instead of waiting for a 94 or 95.

I skipped all of the basic bolt ons and did a PI intake and Cam swap, gears, exhaust and a few misc items all in a weekend, talk about a difference.

With these cars you have to know what you are getting into. You can't just slap on a CAI, underdrive pulleys and some exhaust and expect to blow away everything on the road. You HAVE TO have an idea of what these cars can do and a plan on what you are going to do to them.

Any of the better tuning features, no bolt on turbo kit's, any cams worth buying, fuel system is retarded (returnless is superior).

So exactly how lol is a returnless system superior? all i've every heard from people with them and from tuners is how bad the returnless systems are. and exspecially since they have less market support.

These tuner's need to learn their trade better then, variably regulating the voltage is a better approach then just slaming a massive voume though the lines hoping enough makes it. It's better for driveability mainly, and part's availablility. It's pretty simple to throw in a GT(supercar) pump and have as much capability as you need. There's no need for an aftermarket, what would they supply? No band aid regulators or any of that nonesense.

Of course when they first appeared everyone was all worried, just like when fuel injection and overdrive appeared, and figuring out how to rip it off and go backwards. And of course people will always stay stuck on the last thing rather than the new thing, people hate change.

lol my 98 has a variable speed pump and its a return style. O and the supercar pump is good to about 425, my budy with an 01 gt with a paxton found that out the hard way... thats why that mother runs two lol. Anyway, I just like the return style better but i got the bastered...

I'm responding to the original post. Please don't assume that because I have a new edge that I am better than you. I had a 94 and loved it and would still have it if the motor hadn't blown. I love sn95's, and when you see me staring at your car on the road, it's not because I think mine is better, it's because I love Mustangs, and I am looking to see if you have modded at all, and am probably just admiring it. Same with the foxes (nothing like seeing a well-kept fox on the road!) And if another stang gives me some indication they want to "play", I will if I feel it's safe, and I will enjoy every second of it, even if the other car blows me out of the water, because it's just fun, and I appreciate that the other person takes pride in their car and has modded it.
I am sure there are some new edge owners who think they are better, but any I have known generally just like Mustangs. Period.

:)

How is Returnless superior? Have you ever tune a mod car? Return is the best for high numbers. You can do more with less.

Go back and read, I already explained it all.

For high number's, return still isn't superior, it's just easier. And by high number's, high enough that less than .01% of all Mustang owners are running them at all, let alone doing it on the street.

And yes, I have tuned a mod motor'd car, have you?

I just don't like the TRENDY crowd that buys the 05+ GT's and hate all other Mustangs. Like they are high mighty shet. I wanted a New GT, but I'll wait till the trendy's are done with it.

couldnt agree more, but from the sn95 to new edge standpoint. all mustangs are cool, and i find it awesome that most will want to play when you meet them on the street. i run into a few that are pricks, but thats about 1 or 2 out of 10 modded stangs i see. i will agree with caseypayne69 tho, most of the s197 guys are the ones who think they are better.

+2 to blue x's comment, she speaks the truth. All stangs, except for the 72-78 ones, are cool, and its nice to comparatively drive with another fellow stanger. I've beat and lost to all sorts of stangs in my 94 and its fun to see others that enjoy to mod their cars as I do.
