Not sure if this belongs in a tech forums or not, but im posting it here haha.

One of my rear tires has a slow leak in it, and it's pretty worn so I want to replace it, the tire that's on it now is a 245/45 ZR17 95W. I'd like to get the same size of tire but I need to if my wheels are 8 inch or 9 inch...I have bullit rims, how do I find that out? Here's a pic..

Also, would something like 275/40's fit on my current rims? How big of a range do I have to work with?

Thanks!

If they are OEM wheels there 17x8 the best way is to take off the wheel and look on the back of the spoke it will tell you. I and many people have run 275/40 on 17x8 rims and been fine with them. The largest on a stock 17x8 i have seen was on the 95 cobra wheels that were 8" wide and that was a 255/45/17.

on the back side of the rim it will tell you how wide it is, a 8 inch rime can handle a 255 without it wearing the center out. a 9inch can handle a 275. if you look at you rims you maybe able to tell if the rears are wider or not

What they said. I bought brand new 245 tires & then picked up some used 95 R's. They were 9". I still ran the 245's cause they had maybe 1,000 miles? It stretched the tread out some, worked fine though! When I bought new tires, I bought 275. That's what I have now. 245/8", 275/9".
