well sorta free.

repainted the calipers a few days ago, since they were startin to look like they were polka-dot patterned. everyone does red, so i went blue.

i know... my car is dirty as hell! hopefully ill have time to wash it today (on the clock!?)

also, i had a few extra hours at work with not much going on, so i decided to rip apart my gauge cluster to clean it, and decided to strip the blue paint off the back of the overlay, and repaint it red. also painted the orange needles red too.

i only used red marker to cover the backside of the overlay, so thats why theres all the "hot-spots". im thinking if i take some red acrylic paint and repaint over all the spots, it will tone out the hot spots and make it look more uniform.

i didnt use any LED bulbs, theyre all the factory wedge base halogen 194 bulbs, all i did was just recolor the backside of the overlay.

also, someone had a thread on here to post up emblems. this is the first time i was able to get some pictures of them, so ill just put em here. theyre repainted a metallic gunmetal flake color, or whatever its called.

Is there any reason you didn't want to just purchase the red LEDs?
because red LED's would have made the cluster lights purple.

200g sandpaper. probably took about a half hour. it comes off fairly easy, and you can just hold it up to a light to see if theres any blue left on the transparent parts, as you go along.

red marker. but marker is so transparent it lets all the hot spots directly in front of the bulbs shine through much brighter. i think some sort of acrylic paint would probably work better to even out the light.

you can use 200G, just dont go to hard on it. the cluster overlays can take quite a bit of a beating. the colored areas arent painted, thats the color of the overlay, so youre not going to scratch through and leave spots, unless you go all the way through the material.
