Especially since I almost got a T56 that time, and I was like well... This one will just bolt right in. It bolted right back out too, lol.

i think for now i just wanna get new forks in this one.. and start saving for something better.. i just need to get new forks and start looking around locally for the a good rate..

T-45's do suck. Mine won't stay in reverse, and fifth gear grinds every single time i try to go into it. But i do have 155k on it, i think its time for a rebuild.

man, i just found another one that is 250 shipped to my door.. god lol guess i'm going to swap this out.. i'll prob be asking questions as i go. and i guess i need some opinion on which choice i should go with outta reviax's 3

honestly, after trying all three, i say go with #1 and just swap the tailshafts. easiest by far.

k so if i change tails will i have to mess w/ the mount or will that be good?

meaning that the gt mount will work with the cobra tranny if i just take the mount off and to hell with it?

yeah, if you swap the tailshafts, you will be good, you can reuse everything GT.

i know this is a really old thread but if anyone knows how to exactly punch out the shifter on the trans any info will help...i just got done ripping out my old t45 and bought a 98 cobra trans to replace it cause the old one would pop 1st gear out when trying to accelerate..anyway ive got the old one just sitting on the ground and the new one is in and i didnt realize the mount bracket is too far away.....super frusterating.......ahhhhhh i felt like pulling my hair out(if i had any).... so plese anyone help...i dont like walking....lol

I just broke the second gear fork in my t-45 about 4 weeks ago and thougt i could put better stuff in it while it was down but everyone said not. So i got it fixed and parts, labor just causted $250 of corse i pulled it. It does great now.

lol this thread is funny i went throw this problem two times first went throw the factory trans than 98 cobra trans and that stupid crossmember problem man the t45 is junk than i found promotion trans co. i broke down and got the t45 700hp trans and maching clutch and now i have no problems i can even power shift all i want i love my trans and don't regret at all the car feels stock for every day driving and i know i can beat the hell out of my trans and it does not care i say go promotion your going to pay but its worth it

heh thanks for resurrecting my thread.

man i've had the 98 cobra tranny for a long time now, and knock on wood it hasnt given out on me yet. it takes whatever i can throw at it, even with the pi swap.

Ok... I know this is an old thread but did I miss it somewhere that someone may have asked about the shifter being used? :dontknow:

I mean, if your shift stops are set correctly, wouldn't you have no possibility of bending or breaking your forks??? :tard:
